I just came across another very similar study below. It found that PUFA consumption, in both mice and humans, makes them fat and highly sedentary while also increasing their diabetes risk. MUFA and SFA had no such effects and, in fact, the study authors recommends promptly switching from PUFA to MUFA or even SFA (butter) in the diet. What I find particularly damning is the statement of the lead stud author that an exercise regimen without evaluation of dietary habits makes little sense. Namely, <strong>consuming PUFA may make any exercise attempts\/benefits futile<\/strong>. Now, that is a message I want FDA and The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to start running with!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0173084\">https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0173084<\/a><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.oliveoiltimes.com\/health-news\/consuming-wrong-oil-makes-fat-lazy-research-shows\/56542<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;Sanjoy Ghosh, a professor at the University of British Columbia, has found that <strong>consuming large amounts of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">polyunsaturated fatty acids<\/span> (found in corn, sunflower, and similar oils) rather than monounsaturated fatty acids like those found in olive oil, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">makes people fat and lazy<\/span><\/strong>. <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The effects are particularly pronounced in girls and young women<\/strong><\/span>. Ghosh, working with a team of researchers and data analysts, showed that a diet high in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) correlated with TV watching and other sedentary behaviors. PUFAs are commonly found in convenience foods like chips and cookies. <strong>No such correlation was found with the monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) in olive and avocado oils. Interestingly, consuming the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">saturated fats in meat and dairy products also did not lead to sedentary behavior<\/span><\/strong>, the researchers said.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;The results, Ghosh told reporters, show a clear connection to the consumption of polyunsaturated fatty acids and an increase in sedentary behavior. <strong>A significant correlation was shown between the sedentary behavior of the 11-year-old girls and PUFAs. In addition,<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> the consumption of PUFAs was weakly associated with diabetes<\/span> among adult women<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;The study, published in the\u00a0<a class=\"stylish-link\" href=\"http:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0173084\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">PLOS One<\/a> research journal, follows a\u00a02015 study by Ghosh and other scientists that <strong>consuming omega\u20116 polyunsaturated fats, or n\u20116 PUFA, is associated with sedentary behavior in mice<\/strong>.\u00a0<span class=\"pull-double\">\u201c<\/span>I am not a dietitian nor a medical doctor, but <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>all recent evidence points out switching to<\/strong><\/span> monounsaturated fats, and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>that even a saturated fat like butter might be healthier<\/strong><\/span>,\u201d said Ghosh.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/health-and-fitness\/omega-6-fatty-acids-not-healthy-for-girls-it-ups-their-risk-of-getting-diabetes\/story-kIdUtpDlNjZIlMM1GThHQN.html\">https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/health-and-fitness\/omega-6-fatty-acids-not-healthy-for-girls-it-ups-their-risk-of-getting-diabetes\/story-kIdUtpDlNjZIlMM1GThHQN.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;Previously, heart disease was linked to saturated fats \u2014 an idea that has become increasingly controversial in recent years. This thinking instigated the intentional removal of saturated fatty acids from most food supplies in favour of MUFA and PUFA.
